my dog seems to find the fox poo to roll in in our paddock so they must be around. The locals call our local fox Bert Reynolds

Slightly off topic but mind your dog - I also have a dog who can sniff out fox poo and roll in it from miles away but earlier this year he came down with fox mange and was miserable for weeks - he is only now starting to get his coat back properly.

Snow is an excellant to tell a tale of what has been in your garden!

When I was living at my parent's place I could see tracks (presumably a fox) in the fresh snow that pased one length of the rabbit shed and run, then up a direct line to the chicken run and one circuit!  It goes to show that they check the perimetor for any lapse in security - but didn't hang around once checked (no pasing and no double tracks etc), the tracks then went off into the hedge/fence!  Still scary though!

My boyfriends parents had a fox in their garden a lunch time on Saturday, they were home so were able to chase it away! (the funny thing is they tried to encourage their dog out to chase the fox but instead she stayed inside and helped herself to their lucnh whislt they were gone  )
