what dose it mean when you cant see inside the egg and one feels a bit on the heavy side

I couldn't see anything with my Guineas eggs apart from the airsac as the shells are quite thick, but all 4 hatched   They went quite heavy too.

Don't know if thats any help??

well on day one i could see this air sack as the eggs are a light blue color

now on day 3 they are heavy and i cant see inside them at all

now i know how others feel when they say there worrying about there eggs

seen your pics i cant see into my eggs at all maybe the light is not strong anuff

What light are you using Darren?  Have you tried holding a torch behind the egg?  or Brian just uses a strong light bulb when he checks our eggs, but I've never hatched anything myself.

Get a cardboard box.
Put an egg onto the top of the box.
Using a pencil draw around the outline of the egg.
Take the egg off the box.
Using scissors cut out the shape of the egg you have just drawn around.
Get the eggs ready that you want to test.
Have a strong torch ready
Switch off the lights so that the room is as dark as possible.
Put the first egg onto the box over the piece you have cut out.
Stick your hand into the box with your torch.
Shine the light upwards through the egg and all will be revealed as if by magic.
Work your way through all the eggs putting the clear ones to one side.

i switched to a super bright LED torch and i could see inside

the heavy egg seems to be getting darker inside the other not much change

but to be honest i dont expect them to hatch i am at the mo looking into building an incubator my self

as its now day 4, you should be able to see the spider inside, if you are lucky. the best time for first candling is days 8/9 or 10...so


STEP AWAY FROM THE INCUBATOR!!!

too high, humidity needs to be about 50 / 60 %. then up to 70% on day 18.  and is there any cold spots, and how often are you turning, and which way?

there getting heavy tho they feel much heavier now than they did when i got them

but should'nt they actually lose about 12% of their weight in the 21 days...not get heavier. :?
