Has anyone ever made a sieve out of a blue water butt. Have seen a couple around my allotment but is never anyone there to ask how they made it.
Any ideas would be great.

I think I can picture what you're asking but don't have details. A very easy seive to make is to take some connecting strips of wood and lay them out to the seive size you want. Cut some weldmesh slightly larger than the shape and lay it on top then tack it to the frame. then lay another outline of wood strips over the existing and mesh, and tack that on well. I make mine big enough to sit over my wheelbarrow so that its strong and needs no support while I shovel in whatever that needs seiving.

This may be an alternative. http://chat.allotment-garden.org/index.php?topic=31113.0 if you can get a helper, sieving becomes a breeze.

Yep, that's what I was trying to describe, only less fancy. Mine won't be on national telly. Made mine a few years ago and it's still holding up well.
