Does anyone have any information about the existance of an electric Sieve?
I know of one , a rotory model but that costs about £350.   Anyone know of any

I have only just rooted around to find this post, so sorry for being late.

I wanted a rotary sieve and saw the expensive version. In the early 1990s I built a powered sieve for charcoal. It was two concentric drums, and would separate 6 sizes in one pass, and I could collect dust too. This was a monster about 12 feet long. I built some smaller ones too, and one of them was very similar to http://www.instructables.com/id/SOJ6TQLFI36GHKY/ . There is a link on this page to a powered version.

To turn my sieve the drive was done by a long V belt which suspended the drum, and the drum was positioned by castors running in the rims.

If you have a small helper, you can use them as the power unit.

My sieve had a feed chute, and this was fed by a slow elevator belt. The feed rate is important. It has to be slow to avoid overloading the screen. If too much is fed in, it doesn't touch the screen and falls out with the rejects.

I still have a screen similar to the one in Instructables, so I'll knock up a frame and make some garden use out of it.
