Mum to 2 girls and 1 boy, wife, a border collie blur murl, a rabbit, 10 chickens and 1 cockrel, and 3 fish.

It doesn't take much to put a chicken off lay.  At the moment the changable weather will be enough.  On top of that it is the beginning of moulting season, and with the dark nights approaching egg production will decrease naturally :)

It's good to know I'm not the only one, mind you having 2 bantams doesn't help, they have been broody for months  :D

Bantams must be the most broody chickens ever - our seem to be permanently brooding.  :lol: :lol:

No eggs for me today either from my two hybrids. Given I've only had 1 a day for the last few days was expecting them both two lay. Guess it's the very blustery winds putting them off. Was going to post it then spotted this existing conversation so expect there are lots of newbie hen keepers fretting
