We have been having trouble with some of our eggs being mixed or scrambled perhaps inside the shell.  There is no separation of yolk and egg and there may be some blood, I am having a hard time telling because our yolks are so orange.  I have to break them into a glass before using them for fear that one will be gross like this.  I don't use them when they show up like that.  Our chickens are free range and primarily eat grass, bugs and table scraps.  Please help!

Do you have any boy chooks??? Are you collecting the eggs straight away??

We do have roosters, if that is what you mean by chook (sorry been around chickens for years and never heard of that term).  I don't always get the eggs the day they are laid, I was wondering if they were getting too hot.  They don't sit over 3 days, but that is what it is, may be too long.

Sorry I have had a glass of wine! I do apologise! The reason for my reply is that I have found a similar thing, and have put it down a few half hearted broodies and the weather!
