I have always loved wolves, hence our having three huskies together many years ago.  They were the closest I could come to a wolf in looks, but they are very gentle, faithful dogs although very wilful and independent much as cats are.  We had ours long before they became popular and when they were VERY carefully bred and I still miss them today.

There are so many choices . . .

Mammal: Raccoon.  Probably because I had one as a pet when I was a child.  Very intelligent and curious.

Bird: Barred owl.  Beautiful, but after a few years of wondering why a crazed banshee was haunting our house several nights a week, I now realize it's just barred owls having a party.  The calls at night are now actually comforting.

Oh so many but I’ll go with my first childhood one, lions. Love their power, their noses their resemblance to our domestic cats, although I’m aware in reality it’s the other way round.

Don't ask me why but Polar Bears, they look so cuddly.  I know how dangerous they are.  I watched a programme once where a man had rescued a cub and brought it up in his garden and swam with it in his swimming pool. I was so envious.

I like cats and the most handsome is the Snow Leopard, shame you couldn't get near enough for a stroke, and live
