Shed is a listing building

Not a listed building!

Took on another 3.5 rods and it has what used to be a decent shed but is starting to go lozenge shape rather than right angled.

I figure I can bring it back by screwing wooden mitred battens inside at the corners to square it up - using wood I stored about 12 months ago with the idea that it was going to come in useful one day - well that day has come!

best not let my oh see this as he is a terrible hoarder of things "just in case", and you will prove him right for a change

 :D
that usually happens when the bottom is not level and it may need shoring up on one side as well.

The floor I spirit level - that's with a spirit level and not me saying its level when I've had a few spirits!

The problem is the walls are starting to lozenge so the whole thing needs tightening up and bracketing; and I thought I'd took this on to do gardening!

yeah but yeah  :D  Once done you won't have to do it again and you will have a strong, safe shed to cram all your much-needed tools in. Also you can use it for making tea and cooking up a storm when you have all those delish veggies to hand

Get an old chair in there too so you can sit in the door hole when it's raining, gaze out on your plot and plan, with a hot cuppa. There's lovely  :)

A couple of the cheap ratchet straps are great for pulling sheds etc back into shape if you have something firm to pull against. :)

That's usually true, but you can push this one lightly and it will straighten up but sag back down as soon as you let go. It needs pushing and holding in shape and battens screwing in the corners to hold it true; maybe get a few more years out of it like this.  The wood is still good but the joints are a bit saggy - a bit like me!

<In Victor Meldrew style> "I don't beleeive it!"

Walked the dog down to the new allotment ane found the shed neatly stacked flat ready to be taken away by the previous tenant.

I have to say that's fair enough as it was never promised to me - I had thought the previous tenant had abandoned it.

Well at least I know how to square up a shed if ever I need to and I have some extra space to grow - I don't know I'll have to think.

<In Victor Meldrew style> "I don't bele -eeeee- eive it!"

The sequel - it wasn't the previous tenant - it was a number of committeee members being over zealous and considering the abandoned shed to be committee property and therefore they would dismantle it and offer it to anyone on the plot who wanted a shed for £15!

I offered them £10 if they would be so kind as to put the damn thing back up where it was and how i had repaired it!  Somehow I don't think they will!  And you ask me what I think of committees?

As you had been given the plot, the shed should have come with it.  I'd be cross at them too!
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Tony - the shed was dismantled by the committee, so no longer needs sorting (see post #8)!

Tony - the shed has since been reconstructed - on the plot next door to mine; a guy who is tight with the committee. The committee's word is final!
