Hi again,  my hen is sitting tight thank goodness.  

Jellyhead thank you for your information.  I did think myself that ducks took longer than chickens to hatch but I got the information of 21 days from the Omlette website.  I reckoned the experts would know better than me.   :cry:

I am so excited my lovely hatching eggs arrived this morning. They are sitting on the kitchen work top settling down after their journey and I will pop them under our broody tomorrow night. :bounce:  :bounce:  :bounce:

They will be due to hatch around 14/15th June..................brace yourselves for a bombardment of pictures when it all happens.................fingers crossed.

Here is the update as promised.  Out of the 7 duck eggs under the broody hen, I'm afraid only 1 hatched on Wednesday - exactly 28 days afer being under the hen.  I suppose it's a miracle that any hatched at all as the eggs have been very cold at one point.  Once the duckling hatched though, the broody abandoned the other eggs in favour of the chick.  I left them with her until today and can see no sign of life.   .  Thanks again for your advice.  Vivian
