Over the past 2 or 3 weeks I have noticed 1 of my little brown hens has started to mount my buff orpington which she doesn't like very much could any 1 tell me as to why she is doing this please

she is probably trying to show that she is the more dominant hen.

I agree it could be a shift in the pecking order an active cockerel would be in control of his hens

I have one does it

agree with the others - its defiantly a domination action - even if she doesn't mount the weak hen when she walks past her the weak hen squats just as she would with the dominate cockerel
