Pepper plants and wet leaves
« on: April 20, 2012, 11:42 »
Hi, I have just been advised that I should not let the leaves on my pepper plants get wet as this can kill them, is there any fact in this?

It's news to me, although if the leaves are wet because the plants are outside the cold will probably kill them.

In general it's not a good idea to wet leaves when watering, especially under glass as this can lead to leaf scorch, and also increase the risk of blight on tomatoes.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

They are very vulnerable to scorching, but it shouldn't kill them unless they are tiny.  Mine get wet leaves every year as my greenhouse leaks & they haven't died yet!
