Had a hand from Ben to dig over the last bit of the plot that hadn't been dug - it was home to the PSB and a lots of weedS!

Needless to say the PSB is over - not the greatest crop I ever grew.  ???

Earthed up the 'Vales Sovereign' spuds and gave the onions a good soaking.

Oh, and it's my chook day as well - poop scooped, fed, watered - also fed heavily pregnant other lottie cat!
And she's a piggy!! :D

Planted up the rest of my 'Meteor' peas.  Filled two raised planters ready for a few flowers.  Dug over the area where the 'munty' frame is going. Should I ever get it built. It was so windy I abandoned it. Sowed some Ruby Chard and Drawf Kale.

Took advantage of a delivery of bark chips to site and completed some more paths on the plot.  Then, a friend popped by for a quick cuppa and catchup.

Potted up my peppers and brassicas, the wife pricked out and potted up loads of marigolds and gave everything a good drink.

Put in two runner bean wigwams, set up where Psb and calabrese are going. Sowed two rows each of purple Milan turnips and swedes
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

I received  a mini greenhouse from freecycle ,unfortunately a few parts were missing .

Assembled with bamboo canes and duck tape to replace missing parts, and anchored securely ?

After work- dug half a lazy bed for the last row of spuds, finished digging a small area by the onions for spring onions.

Gave the radish and rocket seedlings a water.

Admired the weeds....grr  >:(

struggling to get the folk and spade into the cement like soil already - left knee is going to be twice the size of my right knee - need to learn to use both legs!

A very quick visit for me, to water the Strawberries and seedlings in the greenhouse and then earth up the first earlies that had just started poking through.

Then spent an hour in the "potting shed" aka the garage sowing Cucumbers, Courgettes, Squash and Runner Beans (probably too early for the beans, but seeds are half price at Wilkos, so not too much to lose!)

Spend ytd: £293.44 (setting up plot 29 has been expensive) Harvest ytd: £163.93 (as at 8/8)

an evening rotovating the lower half, turning in the last of the manure, and readying for spreading upper part with compost later in week for final dig.  some worrying signs of the dreaded couch returning to a area in the middle.  Hmmmm

the quick trip to the plot ended up at 3 hours, 2 hours on the plot weeding and planting beans, plus an hour finding and buying replacement starter cord for the rotovator, then an hour and a half fixing the spring on the rotovator starter (had to heat and re-bend the securing end of the spring).
