About 10 days ago I planted my cucumbers and then read somewhere on this forum that it was a bit early and they are very hard to grow on after their initial appearance.

Have just come home from work and looked in the greenhouse to find all four cucumbers are poking through.  My question now is how do I keep them going, they are in a unheated greenhouse with glass over the top of the pots.  Eventually of course I will have to take the glass off but should I still keep them covered with a bell cloche or should I bring them indoors?

Hi, down in Kent I've got 'telegraph improved' in an un-covered pot in the greenhouse and it's doing fine - last years plants survived to adult hood too so it seems to be ok. The temperature at night must drop some way here but they are doing ok.
I read that the 'all female' varieties need warmer conditions than the normal vars. what do you have?
