Can anyone recommend a MILD chilli?
I have in the past grown Apache and used in soups etc. , but its quite powerful to eat whole, or in bits without the seeds!! (Well in our house it is  )

The children want to try everything we grow but I don't want to put them off spicy / firey stuff. They are aged 13, very nearly 7 and 5. The 13 yr old is becoming more adventurous regarding spices etc (not that he was bad before).

Thanks in advance

Nikki
I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things; right now I am so far behind I will never die.

there are plenty of websites which have Richter scales for chillies on a sale of 1 to 10 I think, 1 being the mildest with 10 being hot, hot hot

There are thousands of chilli varieties and bound to some which will suit you

Tobago seasoning - smokey fruity.  Does just what it says, seasons, bags of taste/little heat.

For info on chilli varieties check out:

We've got quite a few chilli seeds , I'll have a look through see if i can find you a nice mild one, if you like.
If it wasn't for chemicals we'd be organic.

That would be brilliant if you could. I've looked at the web sites from the links given, and understand more about the hot ones. Looking at seed packets doesn't give much idea though. Some say they are hot, but others say nothing, and unless it's a 'normal' capsicum I'm not taking any chances.

If you manage to find some pm me and I'll send you the required postage.

Thanks

Nikki

Go buy some different types from the shops. If you like them you can just plant the seeds they contain.

I've got some 'Dedo de Mocha' Sweet Ají,    Real seeds describe them as  "A hot pepper without the heat!"  might be what your looking for.  PM me your address and I'll post them off to you. (don't worry about postage don't think a stamp will skint me)
