Mildew/mould on pumpkin plants
« on: September 07, 2008, 13:55 »
Hi all,
Just been out into the garden- it has actually stopped raining .....I have found that my pumpkin plant leaves are all yellowy and mildew covered to the extent that they are breaking down. I presume that this has implications for the fruit- was growing them for the kids for Halloween.
The courgettes look similar  :(
I guess what I want to know is - is it curtains for the pumpkins for this year now or can I leave them to ripen etc? Any suggestions for next year to stop it happening again?
Btw, when I started this gardening lark I never realised how emotionally involved I would become. The highs and lows are something I never expected. Love it though and I am planning for better things next year.

not a problem if the pumkins are big enough now just take off the plant put them somewhere dry with light and will ripen just intime for oct 31
feed the soil not the plants
