i have a rather large pumkin plant and the female flowers have fruit behind them but the male flowers are not open at the same time and the baby pumkins just dry up and fall off what can i do ? how can i hand polinate when the flowers are not open at the same time !!!! am i being really dumb please help

I have forced the issue by removing male flowers, opening them up myself and pollenating the female flower with the male flower by hand.

ok will do that but at the moment have just counted the flowers and i have 12 male flowers waiting to open and not a single female what now is this just bad luck or am i being to impatient!!!!!!

I'm no expert but I would say its just pot luck what flowers you get and when.
