A while ago I posted two pics of plants that I couldn't identify and the replies suggested they were heathers but I don't think they are. I'm sure I've seen pics of them in a book somewhere and No. 2 maybe begins with or has an A in it and ignore the yellow conifer shoot on the right-hand side.

I think so, Erica cinerea comes in a few different shades of pink, white and a very pretty pink/white bicolour, but that variety has yellowish leaves. Sadly I have the wrong soil for them here

As opposed to Ling Heather (Calluna vulgaris).
