Garlic Question is it to wet the soil to plant my garlic sets thank you

I planted mine at the weekend.  The soil was wet, but not muddy. 

The general rule is that if the soil is clinging to your boots in big lumps, it is too wet to do anything.  Other than that I think you will be OK

I am holding off for a bit.  Standing water on the paths between the raised beds here.

I've had a couple of types delivered, but will wait to see if things dry out a bit more before planting, the rest should have arrived by then, also it's been quite windy today which helps dry things. I'm putting them in raised beds so have some advantage from a drainage perspective there.
