mistake with minipop
« on: August 24, 2010, 18:49 »
I got mixed up which plants were the minipop sweetcorn, and they got pollinated  :tongue2:

Cobs have got tiny yellow corns on them, well spaced out and completely tasteless.

Shan't bother next year -- even if I had cut them off when first formed I would have only had two or three per plant -- not much of a yield for the space  ???

I made the same mistake, but I'm going to give it one more go next year using half spacing distance.

My minipop are going mad, never seen as many cobs, I took the first lot off as we were going on hols thinking I would cut it all down and compost on my return, only to find they were producing more cobs, so far I filled three draws in the freezer and I am still picking them  ??? Said before next year not bothering with normal cob stuff, just these.
