I have just potted up some minipop sweetcorn in toilet rolls and I am planning on doing some on doing some Incredible F1. I understand that the minipop do not need ollination to produce the cobs, but cn I plant them close to the incredible, where they may get pollinated, or would this make no difference to the produce.

I take the male bits off the top of my MiniPop when they start to form (and are still immature) to stop any pollen falling on either the Mini-pop or any nearby Super Sweet corn.

But ... isn't it a bit early   I sowed some about a week ago, but that is for a greenhouse crop, not planning to sow for transplanting outdoors until 01-May.

As they don't need pollination you can grow in a row, or a block (as per normal sweet corn). One of my kids loves them and I start off about 6 every two weeks through to end of June to get a successional crop.

If you're planting outside, the hybrid sweet corner must be up wind of the minipop as the minipop will pollinate everything to the expense of the sweet if the other way around. Separate fields are better but I doubt that's a possibility.
