Parsley for 4 week old chicks, is this suitable

I have one of the supermarket bought parsley plants and as i am going away soon it wont survive when away so wondered if it would be ok to plant in the chicks future run. I know they will devour it (well led to believe they like it) but rather than put it in the compost thought it would have time to take and be something nice for them. I figure they will be about 4 weeks when i let them start having some time in the run, weather permitting, but was wondering if this would be too rich.
Chicks with a broody obviously get to try things before house brooded but thought i had better check.

Thanks for that, glad I checked, just didnt want to compost it and someone say the chicks would have loved it. I was going to put some turf down in the run, is that something i should wait to do as well, as they are only on chick feed at the moment and if they really liked the grass they might eat too much.
