Chilli Problem - advice please
« on: September 04, 2007, 16:58 »
Hi

We have some chilli plants in our office...

The other day we found some little green crawlers on them :-( about 3mm long 0.5mm wide... The leaves have what looks like holes in them and bumps on the rear - guess these are the crawlers eggs? The plants have been fine for months - they've only been attacked recently.

Is there a common bug that attacks chillies ?
Is there anything we can do to stop our chillies and office being swarmed by whatever is crawling ?

Help appreciated.....

Looks like a lot of the leaves have got what is probably eggs on them - unfortunately the plants are part of a company charity competition to grow the biggest or funniest chilli - and we've had such a lot of fun growing these that we'd hate to give up on them now....

I had the same problem - you need wind to pollinate - or use your finger - we had no chillies until we started to leave windows ajar and manually assist the process :-)
