Went to my allotment Sunday there was loads of Goosberry i on my bush when I went there today to put a net over him that I was all gone about 10 left on the bush where did they go I answer myself

I am open to opinions, and quite willing to be wrong, but I believe that one should net the bushes before flowering not after.

Agreed.   Pigeons will happily eat under ripe gooseberries.
