Pumpkin seeds
« on: October 11, 2010, 11:30 »
Can the seeds of any variety of pumpkin be dried for eating or do some work better than others?

I've binned the ones from my Little Gem Rolets and Jack Be Littles, but have got Jack O'Lantern and Crown Prince left.
My music teacher was right. If you have to make a mistake, make it good and big and loud; with a bit of luck people will think that it was always meant to be like that.

Avoid F1 varieties if you want the plants to come true the following year.

Don't know about specific varieties though.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Errrrr - I think you've mis-read the question, Yorkie!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I roasted some last year after washing off flesh didn't know what variety they were, they stored well but I didn't like the taste.

Yes, some are better than others. Some, I believe, are purely for the edible seeds and they're known as naked seed varieties.  I'd google that phrase and see what comes up.
