I heard that a little urine was good for speeding up the compost heap but not womens as it's too acidic??  :?  

Not sure if that was a sexist comment or if it's true or not though!

 i have heard this for generations and  its an old trick used by gamekeepers it was supposed to protect the pheasants in the pens .i dont know if its true but i guess a lot of these old tricks have some truth in them .but thinking about the size of the pens they would need a lot to drink to cover the area    

I think it was the old gamekeepers excuse in case anyone caught them having a pee behind a tree because there were no toilets around!!!!!

well my bloke has dutifully peed around the chicken coop for me lol
rather funny really... here we women are helping them to be civilised and less like cave men most of the time and then we stroll up and ask them to wee around the chicken hutch...my OH almost choked on his coffee he was so suprised when I asked hee hee!

urine is an excellent activiator for compost though, but if you have chicken poo it is a brilliant activator so I use that.
