tea leaves
« on: May 10, 2009, 18:19 »
Hi all, my mum used to really irritate her neighbor when I was kid. There was nothing at all in our garden, except an old rose bush that she threw teal leaves on. It flowered  very well!

Could I just tip my used tea bags on the plot. I assume they must be safe as I drink a lot of tea.

Just, remembered the second thing grown there was my mint as a 7 year old! Phew time flies eh!

I think tea iteslf is acid -- my mum always used to water her potted azaleas with it as they had chalky water (not the azaleas, where mum lived      and they thrived  :)

Talking of time flying, I remember the cleaners in out junior school always emptied the dregs of their morning tea pot (leaves an all) onto the potted plants along the corridor. They all seemed happy, but I've no idea which varieties they were

barney, would the different varieties of tea make a difference to the potted plants?
I started out with nothing.....and I've still got most of it.

Absolutely no idea - but as I only tend to drink Earl Grey, I wonder if everything I fed the leaves to would end up with an orange tang to it !
