when you ask for oyster shell what do you really get? is it just broken sea shells from other small sea going / snail / clam type things that you find on the beach or pure oyster shells?
when i asked for oyster shell for my hens they gave me the former, and they are in pieces around 5mm in diameter, is this right?

I asked for oyster shell at my local farm supplier and got a bag of fine grit with little  (tiny) white bits in it which I presume is the crushed shell, I just mix it in with their pellets. ???

When you normally ask for Oyster shell I have go Cockle shells, crushed and not small enough for chickens to take.  I now use FINE OYSTER SHELL GRIT 25KGS (OSTREA)
