No - they are ok in ordinary soil.  As regards blueberries and cranberries I would probably grow those in pots.

ps: blackberries and tayberries are also easy trained on a fence (though do grow at a rate) again in ordinary soil

They are pruning forms that work well against a flat surface, or to use to make a hedge from a fruit tree.
