What is a reliable test to confirm that a plastic container contains garden lime and not something else.  Forgot to write on the lid what the contents are.   I thouight adding water to lime makes it fizz, or is that vinegar I add?
Help

I don't know, but before you try anything like that, make sure you've got decent eye protectors on.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Vinegar will make it fizz as the reaction produces carbon dioxide. Try it on a very small sample in the open air because if it isn't lime you might get a reaction you didn't anticipate.

Hi as lime is very cheap you may be better of just disposing of it (safely). As vininger will make it fiz, but if its not lime could give off some gases, and you would still not know for sure what it is safety first i think
