We got 5 more RHR hens last night, the older RHR hens and Colin are not pleased :(  You would think that Colin would be happy to have 5 more ladies to look after.
The neighbour bought 5 hens an 4 cocks too, the cocks to rear to eat.  She finished off the last of her 3 cocks this afternoon.  She sold the other cocks in the week (killed and cleaned out) for 33€ which is around 23 pounds!! give or take a bit!! 6€ per kilo she charged  She gave us a leg and a thigh, it was tasty, thank goodness ours was free :D

Hi Pamela

Well congratulations - I'm sure they'll settle down fairly quickly and Colin will absorb them into his harem :)

Silly new hens, one decided to roost in the orange tree and another went awol last night, this morning I was out early looking in all the trees for her, no sign, I let out the other hens and then discovered her on top of the roof of the hen house! She must have roosted in a tree and decided to take the hardt way down via the roof!! I managed to grab hold of her (much to her annoyance) and shoved her into the hen house.  So today we trim back the orange trees!! At least she didn´t jump off into the olive grove, then it would have been fun getting her back
