We have our crop in and the neighbour told us to leave them spread on the floor in the garage (has windows and is very warm in summer)We have them on a pallet, which has newspaper on then the potatoes then another pallet then more potatoes then more newspaper and right on the top (not touching) we have put tiles to stop the light getting in.

We have no really cool rooms in the summer (apart from the living room and I´m not storing them in there!)
We have about 84kg in the end, so quite a good crop for a beginner.

If there was potato blight about, I'd urge you to check them regularly in storage.  Pick over and remove any suspect tubers.

Tell-tale signs of blight are wrinkled skins, darkened patches and, later, a really foul smell.

We were lucky, we got ours out of th eground befre the blight got too bad, the neighbours have left theirs in and their plants look dreadful and their tomatoes are sad too.  We told them they should dig up the spuds and dispose of the greenery but have they?  They normally get a massive tomato crop and sell them, this year they will be lucky to get half the plants to survive out of about 80 plants

You may be lucky - I certainly hope so.   However, I think you'd do well to check them from time to time since blight passes very quickly from haulm to tuber (even if it isn't visible).
