Went to water the garden this evening to discover my beautiful LARGE courgette plant almost dead-  I pulled gently at the roots and away it came, sliced through with what looks like a knife- and a mole hill right beside it :evil:  It was the Nice de Rond (or something like that) that I grew from seed.  :cry:  I had hoped Mr Mole (or topo as they are called here) had moved on, guess I was wrong :cry:   So it is back to shoving mothballs down any hole I find.  What with the blight and moles my veg garden has lots of gaps   Too late to plant more plants here, it is too hot for young plants to survive in the afternoon sun (40 deg plus last week :shock:  I stayed indoors)

:oops:  :oops:  :oops:   I forgot  :oops:  :oops:   I had not seen a mole hill for a while so thought all was well.  I will go and look tomorrow.

our moles have gone!!  OH set traps (but didnt work) but neighbouring plot set traps and got 3 - only the thieving travellers, rabbits, foxes,pheasants, deer to content with now!

We saw something the other day on the news about theiving from allotments- due to the high cost of food was the reason they gave :evil:
All your hard work and it goes to a theif or an animal  :x
