I have 2 clumps of Rhubarb that I planted last year and they aren't in the best position on the allotment.

Can I move them now or do I have to wait

I read before that it is best to do it in the autumn/ winter when they aren't producing, in fact I think I remember that if you expose the roots to the frost in the winter you get sweeter rhubarb in the summer. I am going to try splitting my rhubarb this autumn as we have 2 mammouth sized plants which are far too big to try forcing.

I was told just today to move mine in November as its a bit sickly looking and this was the best time to do it.

Yup agree with everyone, move it in november when it is dormant.  They are as tough as old boots but I wouldn't risk doing it now.

I've never had qualms about moving rhubarb at any season. If you expect to crop some this season, then wait, but if the plant isn't producing well to begin with, then just get it over with and let it start setting roots in a better location.
