potatoes and water

as most know my pots were fubard by the last frost
however i know they will recover my question regarding water is this i have
access to as much as i  wish 20 cubic meters a day  if i flood the trenches will this be benificial in there recovery or is it poss to over water potatoes and dilute the manures goodness?

P.S the frost will never ever ever ever  get my veg again and thats a promise the prototype im working on will be built for 2012 season  ;)

Potatoes just don't need a lot of water. As long as there was growth under hilled up areas, they'll eventually recover. Too overwater potatoes is asking for rot, and later, greater susceptibility to blight should it appear later.

If your potatoes are anything like mine the top layer of soil is dry, dry , dry.

A good watering will help them quickly into growth again after the frost and should make nutrients more available. A good watering does not mean flooding.

Lets hope that mother nature helps this weekend.
