Peas do not like compacted soil, so make sure you dig deep before planting and then try and avoid tramping all over the soil close to them.  I should imagine water is an issue in Greece at times so give em plenty but rather than little and often i prefer a lot but less frequently, as nature does it and you don't become a slave to the watering can then either  :wink:

most people do not plant sufficient to get a worthwhile crop.  I prepare a foot wide trench sprinkle LOADS of pea seeds randomly along this cover and let them get on with it, loads come up.  I net these once up - the pesties get some but usually enough survive, the secret is seeding thickly....... you can always thin if you think it needs it....
