When to B & Q on sunday & picked up 9 bags of 60l compost (3 for £10) & also picked up 4 of the £1 growbags.

Need the big bags for mixing in with normal soil for my raised beds that are due to be delivered.

I was told that the B&Q stuff was not too bad, so got to try it :-)
Happiness is trying something new even if it doesnt work.

Usually its Arfur Barrers, 3 for a tenner.

Can't really complain, and if things go wrong, then I put it down to me not holding my mouth right...

I bought three bags of Vitax Q4 to try this year, since my local garden centre has it on offer at three bags for £9.99. It's obviously too early to tell how the plants like it, but it's beautiful in terms of texture. Lovely stuff, absolutely no sign of all the chunks of wood I was fishing out of the J.A.Bowers last year.

I picked up a bag of Wilko's own brand sowing and cutting compost. It's quite gritty, rather than woody - so seems good - let's hope the seeds agree :)

Bought three bags (tenner) of Murphy compost from a local GC on Friday.

50 litres is smaller than expected, but at least I could carry them...

Might be more careful about how I use the stuff anyway - no need to waste it all!

Just opened this afternoon one of my 3 B and Q multipurpose compost. (3 for a tenner).

Looks nice and crumbly with no sign of any sticks or rubbish unlike last years Shamrock.  Looking good for seeds.

The only one I buy is Humax Multipurpose. Just bought 6 @ 60Litre sacks at £30. Probably better deals around but this is a local independent nursery and they wheeled it out and loaded it into my car while I continued to browse
