My shed has stable type doors, so I have a window alarm on the bottom door.
I'm very untidy with wooden projects too, always leave bits of wood all over the floor, some may have nasty nails in!
Our lotties have an eight foot wire fence with barbed wire on the top, but they still break in.

I read a letter in the Telegraph at the weekend which claimed to have solved the break in problem by pinning a laminated photo of Cherie Blair on the shed door.

IMHO it is a nasty thing to say or do. ::)

This is where you get your mines and ammo!
Its an interesting catalogue, with things I'd much rather use on toe-rags! 8)

Quite horrifying when you consider what other people might be buying on the web!

There's an army surplus store round the corner from my allotment - I sometimes look in there as I belt by on the bike - noticed some sort of rifles nestling in the window the other day.

Great - just what the desperados need to be getting their hands on!  :(

I had my my garage broken into over the weekend while i was away.  :(

and the garage is over looked by many houses and had a garage defender and locks!

the garage defender they had heated it up and bent it over! and they had smashed the lock.

the police recon they used the cover of the fire work to drown the noise of them!

im so gutted.  :(  :(  :(  :(

Sorry to hear about your garage - I can well imagine how you feel.

We had a narrow escape a few months back - I think I turned a light on late and disturbed them..

The police have found a couple of items in a house raid! and arrested two yobs.

But the insurance will not even think about paying out untill police close case!

which i can understand because yes they might find other items but i need some of the
stuff that was stolen to do work! and they wont replace garage door untill case closed.  >:(

this is the alarm i just got of ebay. if you type this into ebay

Wireless Burglar Alarm PIR Sensor Remote Control

If it is good and loud it should do the trick. Accidentally a mate and I set off the school's early alarm systen years ago when all it did was "ring". She ran screaming (not that I could hear her) up the drive to the caretaker's house while I walked sedately out... it was deafening - hard to think let alone attempt to say "Where the h**** are you going? You set it off!"

I can't imagine burglars standing round to see if anyone notices although they can be pretty quick in and out merchants.  :(

Good luck with the recovery & the police!
