crop problem
« on: January 19, 2012, 15:31 »
One of my Maran hens has a very large crop. I don't think it is impacted as I have massaged it and it feels very soft, almost as if it is full of water. She is eating and drinking ok but is having trouble walking as the crop gets in the way. Does anyone have any suggestions?

open her beak and sniff her breath. Does it smell sour? If so it could be sour crop.

you could try a very old remidy, mix a small amount of epsom salts with water and feed it to your chuck, this does work and is safe  :D do you use apple cider viniger in your water ?
