Sweet and sour onion

I'm sure the mods will redirect this if it's in the wrong place. I made this last night: Had about 500g of onions cut up into large chunks (or could use small baby onions) 3tablespoons each of tomato puree, brown sugar and olive oil. 6tablespoons of cider vinegar, 1 bay leaf,  good handful of raisins. Chuck all this into pan, add skant halfpint water, bring to  boil and simmer, covered until tender. Remove lid and fast boil to reduce sauce. Salt and pepper season and leave to cool to room temperature. We ate it with sausages.
