1st eggs Hooray but under a bush!

I quite agree that hens are very therapeutic and hen watching can get me out of a foul mood and feeling much more balanced. 

I am sure someone will be along to let you know about encouraging her to use the nest box.  I have heard that a china egg placed there will help; however if your other hen lays in the nest box she should get the idea without a china egg.

or find another place to lay which could be harder to find  .
If you don't mind her laying there them just remove the egg every day, however always leave one so she doesn't realise you have found her secret place. I write on the one I leave in pencil and this way I know to leave a fresher one every couple of days
