Treat balls
« on: August 23, 2009, 11:35 »
Hi, I'm fairly new to keeping chickens, so this may be a silly question to the more experienced amongst you.
I was wondering, will hens eat a homemade fat ball  treat like you can make for wild birds? Vegetable fat, corn, wheat, layer pallets, grit etc.
Thanks

i would have thought yes, but remember they should only have treats late afternoon to make sure that they fill up on layers pellets.
not sure if the fat will be good for them, but i am sure the more experienced keepers will be able to tell you.
