Early signs of spuds?

Are the little pimples the first signs of spuds to come?

I'm just about to plant them and if they are, I'm going to have a bumper crop...hopefully :D

I think they are more likely to be roots or leaves forming.  I think the food reserves in the tuber go into producing the new plant.  Once that plant is established and has plenty of roots and leaves that can feed tubers, then the plant starts forming the crop.

It does look like a healthy seed spud with good sturdy chits though, so off to a great start  :)
