Hello, I think that during the nigh someone has swaped my beautiful frendly calm cockoo maran for a devil chicken. She is sitting on the nest and when i try to move her or put her out for some food and water she start hissing and pecking my hands and is really nasty.
I think she is just broody. It just goes to show it is all females that get afected by hormones. Chicken PMS ?

My silkie has gone the same way. She was bottom of the pecking order but has become so aggressive that when I take her off her eggs for a stretch and some food, she attacks the other chickens, (they free range). I now have to let her out on her own or there's bedlam.
