Growing for cropping and saving:

Parsley
Stokesley
Champion of England

Growing for saving:

Ostgotaart
Ne Plus Ultra
Epicure
Clarke's Beltony Blue
Commander
Gladstone

All apart from Champion of England have come in one way or other from the Heritage Seed Library, the C of E were given by another forum member.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

DD this is probably not going to help with your pea propagation issues, but I have some Golden Sweet - tall growing yellow podded mange tout - if you want me to send you some.  They cane from The Real Seed Company and they say they are very rare.  If yes, pm me  :)  They are lovely sweet mange tout and never make it indoors with me  ;)

I have to pick them blindfolded with one arm behind my back.

I can pod and eat them one handed..

My mum tells a story about me getting caught in the pea patch at an early age, empty pea pods in hand.  To her stern 'and what are you doing young lady' I apparantly looked back innocently and started banging the peapods together singing 'clap hands daddy comes............'

A pea snaffler even then

DD

Having lost many beans to aminopyralid this year [] I have the same issue with my bean collection.

What I am planning on doing is 1/3 sown very early; and grown indoors [hopefully in a warm greenhouse that I have access to], and 1/3 a little earlier than normal time; with the babies from the greenhouse sown as soon as they dry - again in the greenhouse so that I can extend the harvest...and the final 1/3 at normal time in the usual way.

At least then if it doesn't work, I've still hedged my bets.

I may well go with half sow early & half sown at normal time, peas being a little hardier than beans!

I'm not in a busting rush to get huge quantities of each, as obviously I'd have no where to sow the entire next generation of each pea!

You do realise this is part of DD's master plan for peas to take over the world, don't you?  :nowink: :nowink:
