Maincrop Carrots.

I know I'm at an age where confusion reigns in my poor little bonce but when is the best time to sow maincrop carrots?

Yes I reckon so as it is so cold today, it's unbelievable for May. Anyway I'll get the bed dug over and get them in asp. Cheers for your help.

I still haven't sown my maincrop carrots as we are having pretty bad frosts overnight here. I think I'll wait another week and so then, what do you think?

There is a theory that later sown carrots miss most of the ravages of carrot fly as the insects have a definite period of most activity. I have earlies doing well in deep containers but will leave the maincrop sowing till next month. I've even sown as late as July and got a useable crop.
