Quick, she's out shopping!

With my beloved out shopping all day with a chum, I took the opportunity to render down about 25 lbs of good beef suet in the cooker!    Didn't take too long and using a small 'locally manufactured' hydraulic press, got more lard back than normal. 
All tidied away and she's not back yet.

Why Cooking, storing and preserving?  used the COOKer,  storing lard is easier than raw suet and I'll be using it to preserve the birdies that visit our garden.

I remember when fish and chips were cooked in beef lard. Ohhh the very thought of it!

yup! Should'nt it be beef dripping or even tallow ?
