i know it,s an old chestnut on here but here goes. my plot is crippled by clubroot. i know i can grow  resistant seed. i,ve also used tons of lime. but i,m still beat. i heard of flower of sulpher but am i wasting my time. anyone out there have any idea of how to help. i love growing cabbage but am limited to choice.  thank you.

Have you tried growing them on til they are quite big before planting them out?

no but its athought. puts the price of growing veg. up. but thanks for your input.

DD, who has clubroot, always recommends growing clubroot-resistant varieties (if you do a search you'll probably find some that he uses) plus growing the plants much bigger before planting out.  They seem to overcome the clubroot better that way.  A handful of lime in the planting hole at planting out time can't hurt, either.

I have heard of people digging a hole in the soil and filling it with compost and lime and putting the cabbage plant in that.
