hi not been on for a bit but one of my copper marans has been laying a wet egg, so much so as it sticks to the shavings in the nest box. the egg is solid but its soaking when it comes out of her,its tht bad the egg is full of sawdust shavings. its really wet when it comes out when i occsaional get a newly layed egg out its soaked in a slimy film of just her. never come across this before its so bad that i cant get the nest box shavings off her egg anyymore shes the only one that has this what could it be. its not just now and again its all her eggs. there all on shavings but

eggs do come out wet and it is possible to wipe the colour off, except blue/green types.
Most people use straw rather than sawdust in the nestbox, which does not normally stick.

I usually just leave the egg to dry out a few minutes then brush the shavings off by hand. Never had a problem brushing them off once dry.
I don't use straw, there's an increased risk of mites and other insects with straw.
