Are laurel berries poisonous to hens, or will they naturally avoid them if they are harmful?  I want to allow my chukkies to roam, but am worried about the daft ones finding interesting but harmful titbits! ???

Hi CC.  :)

Yes they are, but we've got plenty of poisonous plants in our garden, and the birds don't seem to have suffered.
But it's probably not a good idea to have one in their run.
There's been a couple of threads about this recently, try searching the forum for "poisonous" and "laurel".
Good luck.
