We've got Japanese Knotweed in our front garden (not on the veg plot), round the edge of the house. My OH read that you can be refused a mortgage on a house with this because it can affect the house foundations!!

Our plot was completely covered with brambles about 6 ft high when we first moved here but actually its not been too difficult to get rid of (or at least keep on top of) once strimmed down. Dock and bindweed are my biggest enemies.

our council aren't bothered about japanese knotweed  ; it's even washing up on the beach (roots of it - which are dried out but STILL have little buds on them, they are impossible to destroy - we burn them on the fire  )

i guess it's growing up river and then roots break off and get washed out to sea; sometimes i feel like it's following me (can i have a paranoid looking smiley please?)
